Paper 1 B1 What are the likely scenarios they will ask you to describe? And which characters/small events are you going to use to populate your description?
Start keeping notes on here. Copy and paste them into Word or some such thing. Do an A4 sheet for each person (big font) and stick it up to help you remember it.
The class was eerily silent, and lined up rigidly against the wall. Their stillness was accentuated by the contrast; all around them, other classes were bunched around doors, shouting and pushing, throwing discarded sandwiches at windows and finding the weak and the feeble to victimise.
This class, however, was not waiting outside any other classroom. This class was waiting outside B42. THE Biology room.
A second before the bell set itself clanging, the door swung open. A pale, hunched man, who seemed shrunken into his clothes, sniffed as he turned to his class. "Come in, " he wheezed.
A distant observer would have noted with interest how the class's stiffness and sense of fear spread outwards, like a fast-acting virus, to other nearby students. It seemed no one wanted to draw attention to themselves suddenly. No one wanted to exist.
Each member of the class tried to squeeze into the classroom. This was made difficult by the teacher. He was still propped up in the doorway, meaning all but the very slimmest children could not help brushing against him. The look of revulsion on their faces made it seem that they risked catching a disease from the dust that clung to his staid jacket.
Once this obstacle was overcome, their eyes widened involuntarily as they adjusted to the bleak darkness. One stocky boy, the last to enter, hurried to join the others in having his equipment visibly out and ready, but sadly for him the teacher had turned and reached his blackboard before his task was complete.
"Too slow, Ballister," cracked the voice. The boy quivered and tried to hide the growing tears behind his flustered attempts to prepare himself.
