In these lines Mr Henderson is becoming very ill. When I read that Mr Henderson is "astonished" to see "his grandson wiping his eyes" I think that Mr Henderson and Wayne must not have a very close relationship if Mr Henderson has never seen Wayne cry before. This makes me feel sad because I want Wayne and Charlie to get along. When I read that Wayne has been caught "dangling a hamster on a piece of string from a window" I feel repulsed and I get the impression that Wayne is a nasty child with not much respect. When I read that "Charles Henderson's hands were clasped to his chest" I feel disappointed that he has not got into the spirit of the pantomime, but then I understand that he has a "pain inside as though someone had slung a hook through his heart" and I feel sympathy for Mr Henderson and I want to help him. When Charles Henderson asks for "help...using his last breath", I want to get help for him and I feel fearful for what is going to happen to him. When Mrs Henderson tells him to"shut up" I feel angry and I want her to pay some attention to her husband who is clearly in a lot of pain.

Good sense of well explained personal reaction. I like the inference shown regarding the relationship between the 2 characters at the start of the answer. Does it alos show that Wayne was misjudged?
