A1- Point & Evidence
A1 Here, I learn that Mr & Mrs Henderson does not have much money and does not "feel degraded" when she accepts money and Mr Henderson asks Mrs Henderson "how much" she was tipped. I also learn that Mrs Henderson is quite grateful for the gift because she "protests" against he husband's rudeness. I learn that Charles Henderson is ignored by his wife and son because "nobody heard him". In these lines I learn that their son Alec is arrogant. "Not what his mother knows" shows this. Also I learn that Alec thinks he knows more than his mother because he "informed her". I also learn that Alec is jealous of the other "kiddies" and wants to think he is more intelligent than them because he says "I doubt...Moira's kiddies will make head or tail of it". I learn that Mrs Henderson does not take any nonsense because she says she is not "putting up with him". I also learn that Alec has little respect for his father because he calls him "Charlie" and his father "hated being called Charlie".

Really good concise stuff. But, "Alec thinks he knows more than his mother because he "informed her"." is not high high grade stuff. What could you say instead of knows more than mum? How could you be even more precise...
