A2...Point Quotation Simple Explanation
Mr Henderson finds the first act a "mystery" which suggests that he is unsure of how he should react to this type of entertainment. However he is not very impressed with what he is seeing as the scenery could do with a "lick of paint" and "something must have gone wrong". This suggests that he is disappointed with what he is seeing. Mr Henderson does not appear to enjoy the theatre as it was "loud" for him. Moira's son Wayne appears bored with the pantomine as he is "yawning his head off". Howver further on his mother defends him by saying that he is "engrossed" in the the pantomine and that he always yawns when he is engrossed. Moira herself was "enjoying" the pantomine but has not "understood" some aspects of visiting the theatre. Alec the son has read further into the pantomine referring to it as "symbolic". He appears to have been very critical of the pantomine linking it back to his own life and the relationship with his father.
