A1...What=point evidence and I= you must appear in your answer.
I learn that Mrs Henderson is a "cleaning lady" for a wealthy family. The Henderson family are not very well off and need all the money they can get which is why Mrs Henderson has never felt "degraded"when accepting money. I also learn that she would rather have the money rather than the theatre tickets. I learn that Mr Henderson is a very sarcastic man who would also rather the money than the tickets when he says that it was "just what we've always needed". I also learn that Mrs Henderson is a generous women sharing the tickets with a family friend or relation as "Moira's kiddies will like it". I learn that the Hendersons son Alec is of higher intelligence than his mother as he "informed" her about her lack of knowledge about the pantom

Very good. Be aware: first sentence isn;t about her character! I know you go on to tie it in, but it could get the examiner off to a wrong first impression.

I learn that Mrs Henderson is a cleaning lady for a wealthy woman named Angela bassoon . From this i learn that Her family is not very well off you can tell this from the line “she never when excepting money felt degraded” this shows that she really appreciates money being given to her as she need as much as she can. This point is backed up by when she first gets home the first thing her husband Charles Henderson says is asking her about ” how much Angela had tipped her for Christmas” this also shows that Mr Henderson also has a poor paying job as the main thing on his mind was how much his wife has been tipped for. After being told that she has been tipped “nothing at all. Not in your actual pounds and pence.” And then telling him “weave got tickets for the theatre instead” and then Mr Henderson replies by saying “what a discerning woman. Cried Mr Henderson” shows me that he is trying to be sarcastic and actually dose really mind about being given theatre tickets and would actually much prefer that his wife was given money for Christmas. I learn from these lines that “Mrs Henderson’s son, Alec” looks down on his parents like they are his inferiors when it says “at least not what his mother understood by the word” i learn from this that he believes that he has a much higher level of intelligence over Mrs Henderson. This point is also backed up when it says “he in formed her”

A1 Here, I learn that Mr & Mrs Henderson does not have much money and does not "feel degraded" when she accepts money and Mr Henderson asks Mrs Henderson "how much" she was tipped. I also learn that Mrs Henderson is quite grateful for the gift because she "protests" against he husband's rudeness. I learn that Charles Henderson is ignored by his wife and son because "nobody heard him". In these lines I learn that their son Alec is arrogant. "Not what his mother knows" shows this. Also I learn that Alec thinks he knows more than his mother because he "informed her". I also learn that Alec is jealous of the other "kiddies" and wants to think he is more intelligent than them because he says "I doubt...Moira's kiddies will make head or tail of it". I learn that Mrs Henderson does not take any nonsense because she says she is not "putting up with him". I also learn that Alec has little respect for his father because he calls him "Charlie" and his father "hated being called Charlie".

I learn that Mrs Henderson is a cleaning lady for Angela Bisson that has just been given theatre tickets instead of a Christmas bonus. Because she was not very well off she needed the money and because of this she ‘never, when accepting money, felt degraded’, but even though she did not receive what she really wanted she still said ‘thank you’ showing that she isn’t too bothered about not getting the money but would have simply preferred it. I learned that Mr Henderson however was more than bothered. He refers to Angela as a ‘discerning woman’. This shows me that he feels he disserves the money and he his not very welcoming to anything different. He is also shown to be a very sarcastic man. When he finds out that he has been given pantomime tickets instead of money he acts detested and says ‘it’s just what [he’s] always needed’. Mrs Henderson is shown to be quite a generous kind hearted character who is willing to share the tickets with ‘Moira’s Kiddies’. Alec is shown to be the person in the family with higher intelligence and acts as a superior to his mother and shows this when he ‘informed her’. I have also learnt that he acts like the person with the most authority in the family.
